From now on, you're wearing a piece of traditional Swiss watchmaking on your wrist. A rotor responds to the movement of your wrist and winds the mainspring as you move, with no battery required.

Your First 5 Steps

Release the crown (if screwed down)
Turn the crown counter-clockwise until it springs into the winding position.

Wind the watch
With the crown in its base position, turn it gently clockwise, around 10 turns are enough to get started.

Set the time
Pull the crown to the corresponding position and set the correct time.

Set the date
Set the date using the designated crown position. Avoid adjusting it between roughly 10pm and 2am (depending on the caliber).

Secure the crown
Push the crown fully back in, or carefully screw it down again.
Additional function: second time zone (GMT)
Only relevant if your DAVOSA has a GMT function. The GMT hour is set independently of local time via its own crown position – see your model's instruction manual for details.

What does power reserve mean?
The power reserve indicates how long your watch keeps running after a full wind, without being worn or moved. You'll find the exact power reserve in the instruction manual or on your model's product page.
Why does my watch stop?
An automatic watch only stores a limited amount of energy. If it isn't worn for a longer period, it will stop – this is normal and not a defect. Simply wind it with around 10 turns, reset the time (and date, if needed), and carry on wearing it. A watch winder is not required.
Why doesn't my watch run as precisely as a quartz watch?
Small daily deviations of a few seconds are normal for mechanical watches – how it's worn, its position, temperature, and shocks all affect accuracy. Have the watch checked if it runs noticeably differently, stops despite being wound, moisture appears under the crystal, or the crown feels stiff.
Water, Magnetic Fields & Everyday Use
Check your model's water resistance (indicated on the dial or case back) and make sure the crown and pushers are fully screwed down before the watch comes into contact with water. Strong magnetic fields – such as powerful speakers – can affect accuracy; avoid prolonged direct proximity.
Adjusting the Strap
We're happy to adjust bracelet-style straps for you through an authorized retailer or our service team. Models with a WaveSlide clasp can be adjusted steplessly without any tools: hold the „PUSH” button, adjust the strap length, then release.
Care That Pays Off
Wipe your watch with a soft, dry cloth after wearing it. Rinse with fresh water after contact with salt water. Try to avoid getting perfume, sunscreen, and similar products directly on the watch. Bronze models are designed to develop an individual patina over time – this is not a flaw.
Warranty & Service
Your DAVOSA comes with a 24-month warranty from the date of purchase. Keep your proof of purchase and warranty card in a safe place. We recommend a full service at our watchmaking workshop every 3–5 years.
