FROM COCKPIT TO WRIST

Flying and motor racing – both sports still have a very special aura about them. In earlier days, when satellite navigation and electronic aids were still far over the horizon, the men behind the wheel sought fame and adventure, and were willing to risk everything to get them – the Wright brothers, Charles Lindbergh, Emile Roger and Karl Kappler to name but a few. Our DAVOSA pilot’s watches recall this pioneering era and remind you of one thing: a watch was no fashion accessory back then, it was the most important instrument on board.

Newton Pilot Automatic

Functional reduction

The DAVOSA Newton Pilot Automatic celebrates functional minimalism. The precise Swiss automatic movement, the DAV 3021ND, displays the hours, minutes and seconds, whilst omitting the date display. This creates perfect symmetry, which is beautifully showcased against the dial’s fine sunburst finish.

Newton Pilot Rally Chronograph LE

REMINISCENCE OF MOTORSPORT PIONEERS

True to the maxim of French actor and motorsports fanatic Jean-Paul Belmondo, “A racing driver is a pilot who flies too low”, the DAVOSA Newton Pilot Rally Chronograph, limited to 300 pieces, pays tribute to those early heroes of the road who conquered the hazardous racetracks of the time with their courage, skill and a healthy dose of bravado. The design of the automatic chronograph masterfully combines speed and time measurement with the DNA of the classic sport of motor racing. The high-precision Swiss movement ensures absolute reliability.

NEOTERIC PILOT COLLECTION

REINTERPRETATION OF THE CLASSIC PILOT’S WATCH

The dial contained within a 42 mm diameter, stainless steel case has a strictly centred design and dispenses with all totalizers. This gives the wristwatch an attractive generosity. The dial carries easily readable Arabic figures to mark the hours. Other features include three hands and an orange, red or yellow minute track on an inner circle. The hour and minute hands are partially skeletonized in opposing ways to differentiate them more fully. The minute hand possesses a colour coordinated frame, so minutes can be read from the inner circle without an additional hand. A fluted crown that is characteristic of DAVOSA is screwed together with the case and remains eminently operable even when wearing pilot’s gloves. A vintage-look, leather strap harks back to the tradition of pilot’s watches. Here too, however, subtly colourful seams testify to a reinterpretation of the pilot’s watch.
